OPTCL down Infosys to lift HOD Cup

Orissa Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) won the HOD Cup T-20 Cricket Tournament, defeating ng out Infosys in the final by 13 runs at Kalinga Stadium here today. OPTCL all-rounder Sambit Harichandan shone with both bat and ball to be adjudged the man of the match.

The champions received the top prize of Rs 11,111 and the runners-up Rs 7,777. Agriculture Secretary U P Singh and IG Prisons Pranabindu Acharya presented the trophy and cash prizes at the closing function. Sujoy Mukhapadhyaya claimed the prizes as player of the tournament and best batsman, while the prize for best bowler went to Partha Sarathi Pani.

Former sportspersons and officials Ashok Kumar Patnaik, Gadadhar Khandei and Siba Prasad Panda were honoured on the occasion by Orissa Heads of Department, the host of the tournament.

BRIEF SCORE (Final): OPTCL 133/7 in 20 overs (Sambit Harichandan 40; Binit Mohanty 2/23) beat Infosys 120/8 in 20 overs (Subasish Nayak 31; Sambit Harichandan 3/26).
